SYSTEM
The recipe selection process is blind and based on points.
Each recipe’s authorship will remain unknown to the judges. The brews will be given a score from 0 to 10 for flavour, sweetness, acidity, body and overall, similar to the SCA points scale.
On qualifiers, our head roaster John K will select and brew his favourite 15 entries, to the best of his abilities and gear matching capacity. At the end of the 3 qualifying rounds, the 3 highest scoring recipes will go into finals.
On finals, our 3 judges will brew and score each entry from their homes. Again, the single highest point count will become the winner. In case of draw, the highest “Overall” score wins.
After announcing the trophy holder, the raffle will take place.
Qualifiers will be followed via IG Moments and Finals through IG Live. @samplecoffee. We’ll connect with each judge to follow how the brew goes!

[CENSORED]‘s AeroPress Recipe
First thing is to take a few deep breaths and then one massive exhale. Follow this with a loud, “HELL YEAH, COFFEE TIME”!
Next is to get the kettle cranking. We want to get that bad boy to around 90 degrees ๐
- Grind about 16grams of the good stuff! Life’s too short to drink shit coffee. I have one of those Breville smart grinders. Setting it to around “50” generally lets the goods shine.
- Once your H20 is at the correct temp you can quickly rinse your cup, your filter and swish some inside the AeroPress to get things warmed up.
- Now this next step is probably the 2nd most important part of the process. THE CUP!!! Make sure you pick your favourite cup.
- Flip the AeroPress upside down - next level!!
- Dump the ground coffee in.
- Once the water is at 90 degrees, add a little to the AeroPress, just enough to cover the grounds.
- Lightly stir. Don’t go crazy, we just want to make sure all the grounds have been saturated.
- Wait 30 secs.
- Pour more water in so it’s about 1cm from the top.
- Give your brew a light stir.
- Wait for 1.5 min
- Put the filter/cap on
- Compress the air out of the AeroPress so the coffee has touched the filter paper - pro tip :)
- Place your cup on and flip
- Wait 30 more secs
- Press that goodness. When you have pressed all the coffee out you need to take a deep breath and give it some real curry. No YouTube or online guide will give you this advice; this is from years of actually drinking the 'feeeeeennn!!! We want every last bit of juice out of those beans. Push down like you are going to break the mug, but don’t!!!
To make sure your brew is going to be “THE BREW”, sit down in your happy place, give it a few minutes to get some oxygen into it, tell the sun to shine on you and enjoy every sip.

1)Put the paper filter into the base and rinse well
2)Turn the aeropress upside down(inverted method)
3)Grind 27 gr of coffee in coarse size(if your grinder has 10 settings, use 8)
4)Put ground coffee in aeropress and slowly pour 150 gr of water in 30 seconds(92 celcius)
5)Slowly stir the coffee for 15 seconds
6)At 50 seconds put the lid on and invert aeropress on top of the coffee server(heat the server with hot water before)
7)From 1 min to 1.30 press slowly
8)Add 145 gr of hot water
9)You should have 260 gr of fantastic coffee. ENJOY :)

Ingredients 1. Core of coffee ,which is, more coffee 2. Water, filtered if possible.
Step One. Buy really nice coffee from Sample coffee. (Or made of many coffee ;) )
Step two. Get your coffee grounds at Brighter coffee . EK setting of 6. If not, head to Sample and ask the Tiny Ponies๐ด for an aeropress grind.
Step Three Wet paper filter. Rinse it good. add 20g ground coffee to inverted aeropress (or regular, I don’t mind eitherway) Add 250g water between 80-99โฐc, doesn’t matter. (Does it even fit 250g? )
Stir it around for a bit.
Wait for some time , takes some insta photos add them to your story, call a friend, just do them in the next 2 min.
Okay times up.
Stir it around again
Plunge the brewed coffee out.
Add 30-50 g of water
Swirl the brew coffee around .
Drink it around 60-40โฐc Or just drink it whenever you want.
