How do I calculate the coffee-to-water ratio?
Our Coffee Quantity Calculator uses the ideal ratio for each brewing method. Typically, a ratio of 1:12-15 (coffee:water) works well for filter methods, and 1:2-3 for espresso. Enter your desired cups and method to get precise measurements.
Can I make multiple cups at once?

What grind size should I use for each method?
We recommend grinding based on your brewing method: coarse for French Press, medium-coarse for AeroPress, medium for V60 or Kalita, and fine for espresso. Get our visual grind size guide for real life guidance.
How do Sample Coffee’s recipes differ from standard measurements?
We’ve designed each recipe to suit our sourcing and roasting styles, bringing out the best flavour and acidity. But they’re only a starting point: we recommend everyone play a little bit to find their favourite ratio.
Can I adjust the recipe for personal taste?
Absolutely! Our recipes are a starting point. Increase coffee slightly for a stronger/ higher bodied cup or adjust water for a more subtle brew. This calculator lets you experiment while keeping ratios balanced.
How do I store coffee to maintain consistency?
Store coffee in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Avoid heat, light, and moisture to keep your brews consistent. We recommend you consume the bags within 7 days of opening (if you don’t go through them as fast, if possible, pre-portion them into 7-day doses in air-tight containers.
