Coffee atlas: Sidamo in Ethiopia

Both ‘Sidamo’ and ‘Sidama’ can be used to describe coffees from this region, Sidama refers to the natives of the area. It grows some of the highest coffees in Ethiopia

Along with Harrar and Yirgacheffe, Sidamo is one of Ethiopia’s trademarked coffee growing regions. The region boasts ideal growing conditions thanks to its location in the highly fertile Rift Valley. Given its size, Sidamo also contains a range of micro-climates, meaning there can be a diversity of coffee that emerges from this region.
