Geez, mornings are getting chilly in Sydney. Which means they’re probably glacial in the ACT capital, where BEDST Coffee stands.

But the cold kinda adds up to the Nordic vibe they’re going for: delicious light roasted coffee, thoughtful design all around, and knowledgeable, dedicated service.

The mind behind this, dare we say, Canberra coffee institution is James Perry. Plus, a strong, tiny team helping to run the show.

James used to work with us here in both shops before doing the move, and that closeness is probably why he chose to serve Sample for their house blend (alongside some singles to go with a diverse international offer).


James has always been close to us in many ways. He’s been a staff member, event MC, tasting workshops director and also video-creator for our brew guides and YouTube channel


Or maybe it wasn’t the closeness, but a soft spot for very intended puns and dad jokes. 🤔
