Coffee atlas: Tarrazú in Costa Rica

The area generally considered to produce the highest grade coffee in Costa Rica. Farmers from other regions are known to market their coffee as ‘Tarrazú’ due to the strength of the name

Altitude: 1200–1900 m above sea level


This region boasts some of the highest altitudes for coffee growing in Costa Rica. It benefits from a defined dry season during harvest, greatly assisting the processing of the cherries.
