Norbey comes back with an outstanding washed lot of Pink Bourbon.
La Esmeralda is a lush coffee farm located 1800 metres above sea level in the town of Acevedo, Huila Colombia. Don Norbey Quimbayo runs it alongside his wife and two children.
Norbey started in coffee as a picker and a cook, but eventually, he got the opportunity to buy some land—what today is La Esmeralda. Like many others, he started producing commodity coffee to move onto the specialty grade in 2010. He started experimenting with rare varieties such as Geisha, Papayo, and Tabi. But most importantly, he began to fine-tune the picking and processing practices to achieve the full potential of every coffee lot.
Pink Bourbon coffee cherries at La Esmeralda
This lot is 100% washed Pink Bourbon. It has super complex and rich layers, brought by the volcanic ash soil, the high growing altitude and the care put through the whole producing and shipping process.
