Caturra is a natural mutation of Bourbon that was originally discovered in Brazil in 1937, considered to be the first naturally occurring mutation ever discovered.

The plant is very susceptible to leaf rust. At higher altitudes quality increases though quantity decreases. It matures at a quicker rate than traditional varieties such as Bourbon and Typica, with greater yield due to it’s shorter stature and closer distance between branches
